FIFA World Cup 2022 : Mystery or Misery ?

 FIFA World Cup is called the "Greatest Show on Earth". It is an international football competition, contested by the senior men's national football teams. Only the top 32 members of "Fédération Internationale de Football Association(FIFA)" can participate in this competition. This greatest show has been held every four years since 1930 except 1942 and 1946 because of the World War 2. As of 2018 FIFA world cup 79 national teams have competed and eight teams have won the trophy.

2022 FIFA world cup was the last chance for the legendary players like Christiano Ronaldo(Protugal), Lionel Messi(Argentina), Thomas Muller(Germany), Neymar JR(Brazil), Luca Modric(Croatia) to win the FIFA World Champion title. But Fifa world cups never ended without any magical moments. Christiano Ronaldo's Portugal and Neymar's Brazil has been eliminated by Morocco and Croatia in the quarter final round and Croatia lost their fight against Argentina in the semi finals.

 It was unexpected for the Brazilian team and their supporters to loose against Croatia. They were playing outstanding throughout the world cup. In the quarter final match Neymar scored 1 goal in 105th minute of the match but Burno Petkovic brought Croatia into the fight again by scoring a goal in 117th minute. Croatia was finally able to beat Brazil in penalties with a score of 4 - 2 goals. 

On the other hand, Portugal started their fight against Morocco without their most valuable player Ronaldo. Morocco's striker Youssef En-Nesyri scored the match winning goal at 42th minute of the match. Though Ronaldo was substituted later but it was not his day.Morocco reached to the semi final round of world cup as the first team from Africa continent. 

However Argentine superstar Lionel Messi still has the chance to win the FIFA World Cup trophy for his nation and fans. Argentine GOAT(Greatest Of All Time) Messi has his final match against France on Sunday, 18th December,2022. People all over the world are waiting to see magical Messi holding the FIFA world cup trophy in his hands. Argentina lost in final match against Germany in 2014, but the question is "Is Messi going to win this time or the trophy remains in Paris ?"
