Are K-Drama’s Overrated?

Korean dramas are like experiencing another life, one that is full of endearing people and surprising dramatic turns. When we begin watching a new Drama, a warm feeling and nervousness starts to emerge. The storyline stays in our hearts till the drama is ended and the characters win our hearts once the OST initially grabs our spirit. They are healthy by nature. One drama contains a variety of genres, including thriller, comedy, suspense ,romance, endearing characters, some shallow characters, and a ton of references to Korean culture ,cuisine and fashion. Because of this, the Hallyu wave is sweeping the globe.

What makes k-dramas worth watching:

First and foremost we need to talk about their cinematography. They have exceptional and artistic cinematography abilities. Most of their scenes and locations are like they are match made in heaven. They use alot of light color to make it vibrant so that every shot is captured perfectly keeping every minute details in mind. Every drama has between 6 and 7 OSTs, which offer every new plot a different melody. These  dramas will connect you emotionally with all the characters. For me the most special part of k-drama is that most of the male leads of these drama’s are never afraid to express their emotions. These characters are portrayed in a very different way from the typical heroes of our generation! They are very expressive, respectful, responsible, calm in nature, caring and very loving by nature. Moreover, you will be introduced to a new culture, fashion and food habits. I can bet you will love it!

What makes k-dramas Different:

We dismiss content as childish and nonsense, but the Korean industry uses it frequently in their storylines, such as Angels, Mermaids, Nine-tailed Fox, Deities, Imoogis, Vampires, and so on, in such a beautiful way that no one wants to ignore those characters. Korean dramas taught me that Goblins and Grim Reapers have their own lives. They are emotional, and they may also be attractive. They have an amazing ability to change typical storylines with their mesmerizing plot twists which make it worth watching. Also most dramas endings are practical which gives the audience a rollercoaster ride of emotions. Although the drama’s contain fictional characters, it gives the audience hope of positivity in this world full of negative characters!

My personal favorites:

My top 5 k-drama’s are

1.Twenty Five Twenty One

2.Hometown Cha Cha Cha

3.Descendants of the Sun

4.Crash Landing On You

5.True beauty

Most of these dramas are available on Netflix. So if you are interested you can easily watch it from there! I will definitely recommend you to watch these dramas for a change as these dramas are very cozy and will make you feel light hearted. However, if you want to break your heart or feel emotionally damaged you can always watch “Twenty Five Twenty one” sorry for the spoiler!!
